On behalf of CPA and WPA members, London Property Alliance has submitted its representations to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Rt. Hon John Healey MP, ahead of the Autumn Budget on Wednesday 28 October 2026.
In the submission, the Alliance reiterates its strong support for the Government’s ambition to devolve further fiscal powers to cities and communities. We call for London to be recognised for its critical role as an engine of national growth, whilst also being a city with significant economic and social challenges of its own which must be addressed.
Our three key asks are:
1). Reduce the barriers holding back private investment and growth so that the capital can continue to be a productive engine that benefits the whole country.
2). Let cities keep a meaningful share of the growth they create so that development can deliver direct social value and help address inequality locally
3). Give London credible funding pathways for strategic infrastructure – providing the critical places where people, businesses skills and capital can come together to drive growth and productivity.
