On behalf of CPA and WPA members, London Property Alliance has submitted its response to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government’s consultation on the National Planning Policy Framework: proposed reforms and other changes to the planning system.
In the submission, the Alliance supports the Government’s ambition to make planning policy easier to use, support faster and simpler local plans, and provide clearer direction for decision-making. We particularly welcome the renewed emphasis on recognising the benefits of economic growth in the planning balance.
However, we call for this emphasis to be strengthened further to ensure the planning system enables the delivery of high-quality workplaces that boost productivity and drive economic growth. In particular, we urge the Government to go further and explicitly recognise offices as critical economic infrastructure, reflecting their central role in supporting jobs, competitiveness and growth.
