The Planning Alliance, a new public-private coalition formed to advance the role of planning across the country, held its inaugural Spring Summit in collaboration with its Steering Board led by the Planning Officers’ Society and comprising representatives from MHCLG, the Planning Advisory Service, BPF, HBF and the London Property Alliance.
Members joined senior leaders from across local government and the development sectors to help strengthen the planning system and champion its role in driving economic and social prosperity across the country.
The Summit included insights from Board organisations and a keynote discussion on planning leadership; plus breakout workshops on the themes of:
- Local Government Reorganisation and leadership in the new, large-scale unitary planning authorities
- Achieving culture change and efficiency in planning services
- Digital disruption and planning – distinguishing the useful from the hype
