Podcast: Disability and the Built Environment

One in five people living in the UK has a disability that effects their day-to-day life. With a hand in the creation and shaping of the places in which people work, live and play, the property sector has a responsibility to deliver inclusive, accessible spaces that consider the needs of all people with disabilities.

Complementing the publication of London Property Alliance’s Diversifying Real Estate: Disability guidebook, this podcast explores how the property sector and the physical built environment can and should be made more inclusive for people with disabilities of all types. In a fireside chat with guests, it provides an overview of the key lessons, challenges, and actions that property companies and individuals should consider to improve disability inclusivity, and shares insights on simple design features, technologies and initiatives that can improve the accessibility of the built environment.
