Regenerating Tottenham Court Road

26 Sep 2023 to 26 Sep 2023
8:00 am to 10:00 am

We were delighted to welcome 135 CPA and WPA members to our breakfast seminar on the Regeneration of Tottenham Court Road at @SohoPlace; the first newly built West End theatre in 50 years. The panel discussed the area’s expansive changes and how the Elizabeth line has acted as a catalyst for its regeneration.

Key take-aways from the event included:

  • New businesses and public realm have been created in response to listening to the needs of local community and council as highlighted by Derwent London’s collaborative delivery of @SohoPlace
  • The need for increased and ongoing collaboration between Westminster and Camden councils, in order to continue to improve Tottenham Court Road and maintain its reinvigorated reputation as an exciting and dynamic location

We would like to thank all of our speakers including Paul Williams (Immediate Past Chair WPA Board and Chief Executive, Derwent London), Stella Abani MBE (Director of Economy and Skills, Westminster City Council), Richard Bradbury (Director of Environment and Sustainability, London Borough of Camden), Professor Tony Travers (Director, LSE London), Priya Majeethia (Partner, Gardiner & Theobald LLP), panel chair Charlotte Ashton (WPA NextGen committee member and Director, Landlord & Occupier Advisory, Colliers) and Emma Lally (WPA NextGen Chair and Senior Consultant, Momentum Transport Consultancy).

We would also like to thank our hosts Nimax Theatres, the WPA NextGen Committee for helping organise the event and our NextGen champion Gardiner & Theobald for its continued support.
