London Property Alliance response: London’s Calling: Unlocking productivity in the capital

01 May 2026

London Property Alliance has submitted its response to the APPG for London’s call for evidence on London’s Calling: Unlocking productivity in the capital.

In our submission, we support the APPG for London’s work to identify how productivity growth in the capital can be unlocked and sustained, in ways that support inclusive growth and wider regional prosperity.

The response highlights the importance of central London as the UK’s economic engine and argues that the lack of a sustained pipeline of high‑quality workspace is a key factor constraining productivity, competitiveness and long‑term growth. To address this, we reiterate our call for offices to be recognised as critical economic infrastructure, ensuring their strategic importance is given appropriate weight in planning and investment decisions.
